Daniele Gatti è Direttore Musicale dell’Orchestre National de France dal settembre 2008 e Direttore Principale dell’Opera di Zurigo dal settembre 2009; è inoltre Direttore Laureato della Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (di cui è stato Direttore Musicale dal 1996 al 2009). Ha ricoperto l’incarico di Direttore Musicale del Teatro Comunale di Bologna (1997-2007) e dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (1992-1997), oltre che di Direttore Ospite Principale della Royal Opera House Covent Garden di Londra (1994-1997). Ha un rapporto privilegiato con i Wiener Philharmoniker e con l’orchestra del Royal Concertgebouw di Amsterdam, è presente sia nelle loro stagioni che nelle numerose tournée estere. Dirige inoltre le più importanti orchestre americane e tedesche. Daniele Gatti ha diretto numerose nuove produzioni a Vienna (Simon Boccanegra, Moses und Aron, Otello, Boris Goudunov) e a Monaco di Baviera (Aida, Fidelio); alla Scala ha diretto recentemente Lohengrin, Wozzeck, Don Carlo (inaugurazione stagione 2008-2009) e Lulu. La scorsa estate ha diretto Elektra al Festival di Salisburgo e il Parsifal con cui ha inaugurato l’edizione 2008 del Festival di Bayreuth (spettacolo ripreso nel 2009 e 2010 e che andrà in scena anche nell’estate 2011). Con l’Orchestre National de France è in corso l’esecuzione dell’integrale delle sinfonie e delle composizioni per voce e orchestra di Gustav Mahler. E’ in tournée nelle più importanti città del mondo (Londra, Bonn, Francoforte, Vienna, Madrid, Barcellona, New York, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia…). Dirige l’orchestra del Royal Concertgebouw ad Amsterdam e in tournée, la Bayerische Rundfunk. Con i Wiener Philharmoniker sarà presente sia a Vienna che in una tournée in Europa che include concerto commemorativo nel centenario della morte di Mahler alla Staatsoper di Vienna (in programma la Nona Sinfonia di Mahler).
